Background: Isabelle James was once a normal woman working as an accountant for Timothy Blank (King Cobra). Then she made a mistake in the books. A mistake which cost King Cobra $50,000 dollars in one of his criminal organizations. James then found herself "volunteered" to be the first to test a new strain of the COIL virus that King Cobra had developed. Discovering her life ruined, and feeling like she had no alternative she agreed to continue working for COIL and was trained extensively in Kung Fu.
Personality/Motivation: Pit Viper is dedicated to the destruction of King Cobra. Unlike Black Mamba, she has no desire to kill COIL agents or even to kill King Cobra. She uses her accounting and business skills to try to undermine and destroy his operations.
Isabelle is not a bad person, she merely considers her life to have been ruined and she wants revenge.
Quote: "King Cobra ruined my life when I made a mistake. I'll be there to ruin his when he makes a mistake."
Powers/Tactics: Pit Viper has an enhanced sense of smell enabling her to detect heat signatures and target opponents she can't see. She also has scaly, armored skin and a venomous bite. In combat, she uses her Kung Fu to subdue or incapacitate her foes. She will avoid combat with superheroes known to be opposed to COIL, instead hoping to ally with them. Against evil or bloodthirsty foes, she will go for a hold and bit them repeatedly.
Appearance: Pit Viper is 5'7", 145 lbs. She has red skin with gold diamonds and highlights, and an athletic build. She has no hair anywhere on her body. Her eyes are golden with red slits for irises, and she has enlarged nostrils.
Campaign Use: Any time the PCs face off against King Cobra or his agents, there is a good chance that Pit Viper will be around to collect evidence against King Cobra. If the PCs are on a crusade against COIL, they might encounter Pit Viper. It's possible that the PCs knew Isabelle James before her transformation.
