Background:
The twenty-eight year old man today known as Shieldwall was born with dual
citizenship for the United States and New Zealand. He grew up in the US and
his parents emigrated back to New Zealand when he was seventeen. While in
the US he was an active member of the Scouts, and that had a powerful impact
on him. To this day, he is still considered very much the "Boy Scout" because
he is loyal, trustworthy and responsible. It was these very attitudes which
led him to join Watch Tower as a normal agent. His natural leadership qualities
as well as his responsible attitude allowed him to rise quickly and he eventually
developed a romantic relationship with Watch Tower super Luminary. Luminary
had a mystic background and collected several magical items over the years.
It was one of these items which "called" to Shieldwall shortly after the
disappearance of Watch Tower Team Alpha. During one of his moments of deepest
despair for the woman he loved, the item called to him and imbued him with
the power to transform himself to a costumed identity which reflected his
own supportive nature and form barriers of mystic energy.
