Archie and Hagan were sitting around one day, discussing how to take over the world, when an A-51 returned to the complex for repairs. Hagan looked at the simple drone robot and decided he wanted to see if it could be "improved." So, rather than simply make repairs, Archie and Hagan radically modified the A-51.

The robot appears to be a beautiful human female, except that it has light golden skin and copper red hair (easily a mutant variation of a human however). The robot was given a neural intelligence, programmed with a friendly, if selfish, alignment and wiped of all memory of the secret Cyberworks installation. It is unknown if they created any others.

The robot retains much of it's initial reconnaissance programming, allowing it to wear (and invent) disguises, lie, steal, cheat, and do other illegal things. It will seek to preserve it's own continued existence. It will actively seek out and learn about magic and psionics (although, obviously, it can use neither). In all other respects, it can be assumed to have an Anarchist alignment.

Note that the Neural Intelligence has been active in the world for some time already (4th level). It has learned a great deal about the Eastern Seaboard, but is obviously interested in learning more. It has actively sought to learn how to repair itself, as it does not know where it came from or how to get itself repaired. It enjoys studying human culture, and likes making "documentary" films (A/V recording, T.V./Video skill), although it's narration skills are still somewhat lacking (no Writing skill).

The robot was given a false set of memories about it's origins on another world. It believes it came through a dimensional rift four years ago, somewhere near Old Chicago, and made it's way eastward. It's false home world greatly resembles that of pre-Rifts Earth. There, the robot was a bionically augmented human who worked for a secret government agency. Its personality is cold and aloof towards strangers, and will often avoid others. It is friendly (sometimes flirtatious) towards those it likes and trusts. It is curious about D-Bees, but dislikes Splugorth. It is programmed to display (more or less correctly) a complete range of human emotions. It collects pre-Rifts artifacts, and items of "personal" significance.

Jocasta is the intellectual property of Marvel Comics Group. In combat, it makes extensive use of conventional weapons, but when pressed into hand to hand, it typically uses its built-in vibro-blades (W.P. Knife, 8th level, and W.P. Paired) to deadly effect. It will normally wear light M.D.C. body armor (heavy armor if available and expecting combat), as it believes that only it can repair itself, and only with extreme difficulty (and for the most part, it is correct).

Model Type: Modified A-51

Class: Fully Automated Self-Sufficient Spy Robot

Crew: None; Neural Intelligence

M.D.C. by Location:

Hands (2) - 15 each

Feet (2) - 20 each

Arms (2) - 80 each

Legs (2) - 110 each

*Head - 50

** Main Body - 320

Sensory Antenna (when extruded) - 5

* Destroying the head of the robot will eliminate all optics and most sensory systems (excluding the Clock Calendar & Gyro-Compass, the Motion Detector, Sensory Antenna, and Wide Band Radio). In these cases, the robot becomes -9 to Strike and Parry, and Dodge (-4 if the Sensory Antenna is extruded and intact). Note the head is small and difficult to strike. It requires a called shot at an additional penalty of -2 to strike the head.

** Depleting the M.D.C. of the Main Body will effectively destroy the robot, causing it to detonate its hidden self-destruct mechanism leaving nothing to salvage. Note: Additional body armor could be worn by this human size robot (CS, borg, etc.) and, in fact, it often does. It also often wears clothing to disguise itself. This robot is not aware that it carries a self-destruct mechanism.

Speed

Running: 90 mph maximum. Note that the act of running does NOT tire the robot and speed can be maintained indefinitely.

Leaping: The robot's legs are strong and adequate for leaping. Leaps are limited to approximately 10 feet high and lengthwise. A running leap at speeds in excess of 40 mph will enable the robot to leap an additional 10 feet.

Flying: Concealed micro hover system allows flight at 200 mph, with a maximum altitude of 500 feet. Note that the hover jets are mounted in the feet, hips, back and shoulders and use of the system may cause clothing and equipment to be blown from the robot's body.

Range: As long as the robot has 50% of it's surface exposed to sunlight it can operate indefinitely. With the combined power systems, the robot has an operational life of 20 to 25 years, even under the most strenuous and constant amount of use.

Statistical Data

Height: 6 feet

Width: 2 feet, 5 inches

Length (Depth): 2 feet

Weight: 500 lbs

Physical Strength: Equal to a P.S. 40

Cargo: Extremely limited; concealed compartments in the right leg (two medium) and left leg (one large) allow small items (hand guns, e-clips, credit cards, etc.) to be carried on board.

Power System: Super-solar, supplemented by Nuclear. Average expected operation time is 30 to 35 years.

1. May use any type of common weapon: While this unit has several built-in weapon systems, it often uses conventional weapons to supplement its own as well as conceal its identity. Typically, it will only use its internal systems when no conventional weapons are available.

2. Hand to Hand Combat: Seven (7) hand to hand attacks/actions per melee. Skill is equal to an eighth level hand to hand: martial arts.

Restrained Punch: 4d6 +15 S.D.

Full Strength Punch: 1d6 M.D.

Kick: 1d8 M.D.

Leap Kick: 2d8 M.D.

Jump Kick: 2d8 M.D.

Body Block/Ram (at 50 mph or more): 1d4 M.D.

See also Internal Weapon Systems

Bonuses: Include Sensor Bonuses. W.P. Bonuses (standard). Hand to Hand: +5 on initiative, +2 to strike, +7 to parry, +8 to dodge (+9 with Sensory Antenna extruded), +3 to pull punch, +6 to roll with punch/impact/fall, entangle and paired weapons. +2 to strike with ranged weapons.

3. Internal Weapon Systems:

Retractable Vibro-Blades: Built into each arm, 2d6 M.D.

Wrist Needle and Drug Dispenser (right wrist), contains 5 doses each chemical (see Rifts p. 241)

Garrote Wrist Wire (left wrist), used to strangle an opponent, S.D. only.

Laser Utility Finger (right index), 1d6 or 3d6 S.D. to 50 feet, ROF 4.

Laser Finger Blaster (right middle, left index), 1d4 M.D. to 300 feet, ROF 3.

Defensive Lasers (one pair mounted in the chest, facing forward just below the collar bone; one pair mounted in torso, facing backwards, one between the shoulder blades, the other just above the hips.) Each pair does 2d4 M.D. (1d4 per laser) to 300 feet, ROF 3.

Chemical Spray, emitted through the mouth by "spitting", range 40 feet as liquid, or 10 radius as a gas. The system contains 13 doses of each chemical (maximum 80 doses of chemicals, see Rifts p. 240). The system stores the chemicals as a liquid and can "vaporize" them to create a gas cloud as described (see Rifts p. 240).
