(a.k.a. Dulcimer's Daughter, a.k.a. Rachael Lamton)
History
Rachael Lamton was born in 2029. She was born in San Francisco, and grew up a Fuchi corp-brat. After completing secondary education, she entered the Fuchi security division. There she became an officer, and in 2048 she met the enigmatic Dulcimer. Finding their personalities to be compatible, they developed a mentor-pupil relationship. Considering that Dulcimer is old enough to be Lamton's father, her co-workers began calling her "Dulcimer's Daughter". She had a crush on Dulcimer for a while, but got over it quickly when he retired from Fuchi and became a free-lancer (i.e. shadowrunner). However, she was soon transferred to Seattle, where she began hearing the street lore about Dulcimer and his group of shadowrunners called "Body Count".
Curious, she opted to spend her free time looking for Dulcimer. Unfortunately, this led her into trouble with the Mafia, as the Mafia has issued an enormous bounty on Dulcimer. Hoping to use her as bait for Dulcimer, the Mafia laid an elaborate ambush which after being sprung resulted in seven dead Mafia soldiers, more infamy for Body Count and Lamton and Dulcimer being reunited and reconciled. However, the reunion was short, as Lamton realized that Body Count's "war" with the Mafia would likely get them all killed, and that by being associated with Dulcimer, she had now been dragged into the conflict. Using certain contacts, Lamton arranged for a lateral job move within Fuchi that now allows her a lot of freedom to act as a freelancer for other interests.
Campaign Role
She does mostly bodyguard and back-up work. She avoids wetwork, but is fully capable of killing. If the PCs need a sniper, or a "capable escort", they might be put in touch with Bromide.
Personality
Bromide is slightly paranoid. She will do whatever it takes to avoid revealing that she is a magician. Even more so, she will avoid revealing her cybernetics. She does this just in case she gets captured by a foe; if the foe doesn't know she's a mage, or doesn't know that her cybernetics senses will provide her with some immunity to a mage mask, then she has an advantage.
Abilities
Methel Bromide is a hermetic magician. She is also trained in the use of rifles, particularly sniper rifles, and has limited cybernetic implants. Except Dulcimer, no one in Seattle, and only a dozen people within Fuchi know she is a mage.
Battle Tactics
Her primary role is two-fold: sniper and back-up. She will attempt to get
into a position of cover, and fight from there. She has no powerful offensive
spells, and since she doesn't want to reveal her magical talents anyway,
she will use most of her spell pool for spell defense.
Adventure Seed
The PCs need some extra back up (read: sniper) for a job they will be completeing. Their fixer recommends Methel Bromide as a reliable option.
Given Bromide's association with Body Count (and BC's ongoing war with the Seattle Mafia), any contact with Bromide could bring the PC's in to conflict with the Mafia.
