Force Field Technology for GURPS Vehicles, 2d. ed.

By definition, these rules also apply to Robots and Mecha.

Against Kinetic Projectiles:  Force Fields are immune to the armor divisor of kinetic attacks equal to their TL+1.  For example, TL11 force fields negate TL12 or lower projectiles.  Any damage which penetrates the force field does not apply the armor divisor (as it has been expended against the force field).  Force fields are treated as sealed armor unless the damage penetrates the force field, in which case the attack is applied normally.  Thus, an unsealed robot could gain the benefit against concussion damage of being "sealed" just by having a force field.

Against Energy Weapons:  Force fields are immune to the armor divisor of energy weapons equal to their TL-1.  For example, TL11 force fields negate TL10 or lower energy weapons.  Any damage which penetrates the force field applies the armor divisor as normal.  Force fields are treated as sealed armor unless the damage penetrates the force field, in which case the attack is applied normally.  Thus, an unsealed robot could gain the benefit against concussion damage of being "sealed" just by having a force field.
