Russian Chef Takes Japan

From CNN Headline News

"While the television show ‘Iron Chef’ has always had a core following, the ratings quintupled over the weekend as members of the world’s greatest hero team Watch Tower appeared on a special edition of the show.

"Team Beta member Kodiak Steel appeared on the show with the new Tower chef Niles, the Telepathic Squid. To everyone’s surprise Kodiak and Niles both proved to be excellent entertainers and Niles' mastery of food carried the pair to a close second.

"Each episode of ‘Iron Chef’ has a food theme and gives contestants one hour to prepare as many dishes as they can within the theme. The contest winner was a jovial reigning champion Sakai Hiroyuki, although the Watch Tower team came in close behind.

"All the contestants were very relaxed and the Watch Tower team kept a lively running banter with Sakai. Niles and Kodiak Steel set the tone at the beginning when during the introduction, Kodiak raised his clasped hands in a showy welcome display and Niles mimicked him perfectly with three pairs of tentacles.

"Kodiak Steel credited long time Watch Tower chef Stanis Yeltzin for preparing him for the program.  The heroic pair also announced that Niles and Yeltzin were collaborating on Yeltzin’s second book of recipes. Watch Tower fans will remember that two years ago Stanis Yeltzin published the best-selling recipe book Hero Feast: Keeping Up with the World’s Greatest Hero Team. The book contains more than 70 recipes - many of them original - and each had an anecdote or short story relating to life in Watch Tower. Watch Tower fans particularly enjoyed reading between the lines to see that Yeltzin had an unrequited crush on Alpha Team member Jade Phoenix. Yeltzin is, of course, the grandson of Russian President Boris Yeltzin and his wife, the World War II heroine Protector of the People. "

Watch Tower Internal Memo

From: Front Office

Although it will undoubtedly drive him nuts to be kept away from the action, it is felt that Stanis Yeltzin, a.k.a. Kodiak Steel, can do a great deal of good in the P.R. department. His dual fame as WT chef and Team Beta member, combined with his natural charisma make him an obvious choice. Therefore it has been decided that he should appear in the public eye whenever possible.

Watch Tower Internal Memo

From: Niles

I would like to thank Kodiak Steel and Watch Tower for giving me the opportunity to appear on ‘Iron Chef’. We both had a great time. However, I would like to correct the official public reports by pointing out that I did not ‘carry’ Kodiak Steel to a near victory. Kodiak is an excellent chef and we have a good working rapport that made our effort easy. With more practice, I’m sure we could win first place.
