Taurus

Created 1985 by P. Rogers

Background: Taurus is a minotaur from Fantasy World (Champions in 3D). Even there, he was extremely unusual - stronger, bigger, smarter and faster than other minotaurs. When the wizard blasted him, Taurus was dumped into the Confluence (Mystic Masters). There, he was further altered by the magic before he found himself dumped on our Earth in 1985.

Ironically, he found himself in Greece. Being a good military tactician, he immediately went into hiding until he learned what was going on and how to speak the language.

It wasn't long, however, before the "monster minotaur" had attracted media attention and the attention of the legal authorities. As a result, Lomax Kijarat (who was in Europe at the time avoiding his former employers) independently sought Taurus to collect the bounty. Kijarat and Ms. Fist found the minotaur and began observing him.

Kijarat realized that the minotaur was not just powerful, but he was intelligent and honorable. He began to think the minotaur would make a good ally. Kijarat observed the minotaur, watching him fight several times, without getting involved. In a slow process, Kijarat began to help the minotaur in minor ways, sometimes allowing himself to be seen.

Then, at a time when Taurus was trapped by a a super-science bunch of monster hunters called the Exterminators (Alien Enemies), Kijarat intervened and offered to save Taurus in exchange for an oath of fealty. Taurus swore the oath, and together they defeated the Exterminators and escaped. That's how Taurus became the first recruit of the New Conquerors.

Personality/Motivation: Taurus is very noble for a minotaur. However, as a minotaur, he tends towards the carnivorous side, but he has stopped eating human flesh.  Don't ever lie to him.

Quote:  "Don't piss me off.  I like the taste of human flesh."

Powers/Tactics: Taurus is superhumanly strong and durable. He is a skilled tactician and has studied human combat techniques of wrestling and football. His shatter-proof horns protrude above the top of his head, so he can easily impale opponents on them.

In his early days, he always carried his Great Axe.  In the late eighties, he replaced it with a more modern model which was more durable and had a telescoping handle for more convenient storage.  Today he rarely uses the axe, but will carry it when he expects tough competition.

Appearance: Taurus is 10' tall with a barrel chest and powerful limbs. His fur is a dirty grey, with patches of brown around his muzzle, ears and loins. His hooves and fingernails are black with grey streaks, and his horns are grey with black streaks. He weighs just over 1000 pounds, and has blood red pupils in his yellow eyes.

Campaign Use: Taurus is honor-bound to serve Lomax Kijarat whenever Kijarat should ask for anything. He and Kijarat are also good friends. Taurus spends most of his time in Tunisia, where he is considered a hero of the people since the New Conquerors helped overthrow the corrupt military government. Like Rogue, Taurus is a "strong-jawed hero" for the New Conquerors. He and Rogue both tend to position themselves to absorb or block enemy attacks.
