Background:  Thomas Clarence grew up in Chicago (USA), and joined the U.S. Army to get out of the city.  It was in the Army that his life really began; he earned his college degree in Chemistry and his mutant powers manifested.  He excelled as a squad leader, and received training in how best to use his mutant powers.

After his term with the Army was up, he became a founding member of the Los Angeles (USA) based superteam the Lords of Law (he always felt it was a dumb name).  However, his term with them was short as he was the least powerful member of the team, and they had no sense of tactics, and never listened to him.  He left that group, angry and frustrated.  He floated around for a while, before falling in with "questionable elements" who appreciated his Army training.  It wasn't long before his remaining scruples were eroded and he was a full time supervillain.

Personality / Motivation: Clarence has a strong sense of self-identity and demands the best of himself and those under
his command.

Steamroller is a well trained military man.

It is unfortunate that the Lords of Law was such a dismal failure.  Perhaps their greatest failure was their treatment of Steamroller, causing him to become so disillusioned that he would become a criminal.  His Army record was excellent and it is my sincere hope that he might be redeemed and brought back to the "good" side.

Powers / Tactics:  Steamroller will hang back and evaluate his foes before combat.  True to his name, he will charge full speed into his chosen target, hoping to use his speed and momentum to topple the target.  After striking his target, he will attempt to move out of range again to re-evaluate the situation and lead his troops.  Steamroller is skilled in tactics, military leadership and stealth.

Steamroller has superhuman strength and running speed.  He can lift/press approximately 1 ton.  He can run at more than 40mph for extended periods.  His costume is armored and can soak a lot of damage. Since joining the Black Legion he has developed the ability to project a personal force field (he suspects Motivator has been tampering with his genetics, but can't prove it.)

Appearance:  Thomas is in his late twenties, but a side effect of his powers is accelerated aging.  He appears to be in his late-30s and his black hair is greying at the temples.
