The Raiders

The Raiders are a group of three Zeta-class SPB mercenaries apparently from the Southwest region of the United States.  The exact source of their powers is a mystery, but there have been suggestions that the Raiders are either siblings or gained their powers from the same biogenic process.  Each Raider has enhanced strength, retarded aging and a unique superhuman ability (see below).  Since their appearance in the mid-1970's, the Raiders have been put to work by a wide range of different villains, criminal masterminds and would-be conquerors.   The Raiders are best known for their complete devotion to an employer.  They will never betray a current or former employer without solid evidence that the employer has betrayed them first.  This has made them popular despite their relative lack of power.

Currently, it is believed that the villains are in the employ of industrialist Justin Priestly and they have been receiving tactical training from the Irish mercenary Cloverleaf.

The Raiders are known simply as Raider One (R1), Raider Two (R2) and Raider Three (R3). Their real identities have never been discovered.

Each Raider is known to have a different power, as follows:

  • Raider One can expel a variety of organic "pellets" from his forearms.  He refers to these as his "bombs."  Known "bombs" include "boomer" (2-meter concussive blast), "screamer" (small concussive blast combined with localized blinding flash and deafening boom) and "solvent" (a strong acid).
  • Raider Two can absorb tremendous amounts of energy, drain energy from electro-mechanical devices and fly.  Because she lacks ranged attacks, she is an accomplished martial artist.
  • Raider Three can devastate victims with powerful focused concussive bursts of sound.  He refers to this power as his "amplisonic shatterblasts."
