Lord's Falcon

Riccardo "Hero" Remuirez

2nd level chaotic good human fighter (modified Dilletante kit (Dragon Magazine 1998 Annual))

Str 16, Dex 11, Con 13, Int 14, Wis 11, Cha 14, Hit Points 16

Weapon Proficiencies:  Martial Arts +3, broad sword, spear

Non-Weapon Proficiencies:  Healing (basic first aid), local history, reading/writing, heraldry, language (Common), language (native)

Special Abilities:  Hero was mutated by the process which transported him from end-of-the-Millenium California to Oerth.  He gained two abilities:  beams of pure force from his eyes and limited invulnerability.  He can generate powerful beams of force from his eyes that have range equivalent to a long bow.  His eye beams are ROF 2, 1d20 damage (or 1-2 structural points).  Despite the amazing power of his eye beams, they are non-magical and do not affect creatures harmed only by magical weapons.  His invulnerability gives him a natural armor class of 8, reduced by 1 more at each other level after first (i.e. 7 at level 3, 6 at level 5, etc.).  He saves at +1 against magic (including rod/staff/wand) and all poisons.

Special Hindrances:  Hero is dependent on solar energy for both his powers and his sanity.  He is not aware of this, but if he is deprived of solar energy for a few weeks, all his powers will begin to fade.  If he is deprived of solar energy for more than two to three months, he will become psychopathic and sociopathic.  His powers can be maintained with exposure to only a few hours of solar energy per day (powerful sun related magic such as sunray might also meet his needs), and any lost powers will recover within a week.  Although a fighter, he cannot ever take a weapon specialization.  He suffers a -10% penalty to earned experience because of his lack of specific focus.

Equipment:  broad sword, spear, small shield, heavy boots, pants (2), cloak, shirts (3), backpack, chain mail shirt

Background:  Riccardo Remuirez grew up in NYC.  His middle income family taught him hard work and family loyalty.  But he always knew something was wrong and he won a scholarship to UC Berkeley.  There, he felt mroe at home, but still not right.  He joined SCA and studied karate and kung fu.  He fancied himself a noble knight and loved history.

He was fortuante that Pendragon found him, dazed and confused wandering the country-side.  After six months on Oerth, he gave up any hope (or desire, really) of returning "home."

Personality / Motivation:  He's a classic Boy Scout and superhero.  Captain America and King Arthur are his personal heroes.  He is a devout Catholic and is really perplexed by the polytheism and powerful deities of Oerth.  He has a fantastic memory, but lacks focus (resulting in his broad range of skills).  He can't stand to wear heavy armor for long periods, so his only armor is a chain mail shirt and small shield.

Quotes:  "I'm still convinced this is a dream."

Powers / Tactics:  He has studied karate extensively and received nominal weapon training during his time with SCA.  He is still a neophyte to the idea of real and bloody combat to the death on a frequent basis and is a proponent of taking prisoners or letting fleeing foes escape. In combat, he stays close to Aria where he acts as her shield man and she can identify enemy spell-casters for him to attack. He keeps his sword handy but invariably blasts away with his optic beams taking opportunity shots unless Pendragon or Aria direct him at a specific target (like an enemy leader or spell-caster). If Brawler is guarding Aria, Hero will drop his shield and use his martial arts instead (this tactic may change if he acquires a magical shield or when his foes have dangerous weapons).

Appearance:  Hispanic male, 5'10", 150 lbs., short black hair, dark brown (almost black) eyes.

Campaign Use:  Hero is a member of the Lord's Falcon.
