Supplemental Biographical Data

Jennifer Mulligan is a damn good paramedic.  She always wanted to save lives, and when she was young she considered being a doctor or surgeon.  But during pre-med, when she volunteered for the county ambulance service, she discovered she also craved the thrill of being first on the scene.  So she became a paramedic.  Eventually, she returned to Lexington where she had grown up and got a job with Central Baptist Hospital.  Within a year, she was known as their "lucky charm" because it seemed like no one died on her shift, no matter how bad the emergency.  It was probably just coincidence, but she enjoyed feeling like she was really making a difference.

But every streak of good luck must eventually run dry.  She'd handled a couple of powered people before, but only a few.  Her first had been Sound of the Millennium.  But that was a long time ago and this one was different.  Later, she had a sense that he was meant to die in her arms.  Fate had decreed it, and there was nothing she could have done about it, lucky charm or not.  His name was Gravity.  He was a criminal.  He had been badly injured in a fight with police and his prospects didn't look good.  She tried though. She and Bill worked all the way to the hospital, even after that weird moment where he had opened his eyes to stare at her, grabbed her hand and whispered "I've made a lot of mistakes in my life.  I see that now.  Do good deeds."  She didn't feel the warmth in her hands at the time because she was trying to save his life.  But she understands now.  Somehow, his power (and a basic understanding of how to use it) had flowed from him into her.  He'd transferred it somehow, giving her new abilities and new ways to save lives.  Gravity was declared DOA at the hospital.

Just as soon as she dealt with losing a patient, the new Gravity was going to be a superheroine.

Jennifer is 5'9", 150 lbs.  She has broad shoulders and almost no waist.  Jenn is attractive in an understated sort of way.  She's been a die-hard athlete ever since her parents enrolled her in dance classes at age three, including soccer, softball, volleyball, field hockey and basketball.  The weight-training since high school has resulted in a muscular build.  She attended the University of Michigan on a volleyball scholarship.  She has shoulder length brown hair that is absolutely straight except at the ends, where it curls slightly inward.  It doesn't matter what length it is, it always seems to curl at the bottom in exactly the same way. [Author's Note: If I were to cast her in a movie, I'd recruit Angie Harmon and send her to the gym for three months.] Her off-duty choice in clothing is turtleneck, slacks and sensible shoes.  She perpetually works overtime, so her off hours are spent as far from work as possible, usually socializing with friends at the gym, movies or the bar.  She spends two to three evenings every week at her parents place with her family.  She is outgoing and comfortable around people, but she rarely talks about her personal life.  Her father wants her to "find a nice guy and settle down" but she's never found the right guy.  She has an on-again, off-again not-really-dating relationship with one of the doctors at the hospital.
